Tieniu Tan Industry leader, Technological inventor
Professor Tan is a Fellow of CAS, TWAS (The World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries), IEEE and IAPR (the International Association of Pattern Recognition), and an International Fellow of the UK Royal Academy of Engineering. He was founding chair of the IAPR Technical Committee on Biometrics, the IAPR-IEEE International Conference on Biometrics, the IEEE International Workshop on Visual Surveillance and Asian Conference on Pattern Recognition (ACPR). He has served as the President of the IEEE Biometrics Council. He is currently the Deputy President of Chinese Artificial Intelligence Association and President of China Society of Image and Graphics. He has given invited talks and keynotes at many universities and international conferences, and has received many national and international awards.
Guangqi Hou Ph.D CEO
Founder of IriStar Co.,Ltd., his current research focuses on Optical Imaging, Computational Photography, Light Field Photography, Pattern Recognition and Computer Vision. He is a member of IEEE/SPIE, and a reviewer of TIFS/Neuocomputing/Sensors/IJAC. He was a research fellow at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2011 to 2013. In July 2013, Dr. Hou joined the National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition (NLPR) as an Assistant Professor, and became an Associate Professor since Nov. 2014.
Zhenan Sun Professor Technical adviser
Dr. Zhenan Sun received the BSc degree in Industrial Automation from Dalian University of Technology, the MSc degree in Systems Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and PhD degree in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1999, 2002 and 2006, respectively. Since March 2006, Dr. Sun has joined the National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition (NLPR) where he is currently a Professor. His current research focuses on biometric recognition for personal identification, image processing and computer vision.
Our team originates from the biometrics research team of the National Key Laboratory for pattern recognition, Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. IriStar Co.,Ltd. has the largest research and development team exploring long-distance iris recognition in the world. Our core team has more than 30 members, including 6 Ph.D. graduates and 22 master graduates from Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA), Tsinghua University (THU), University of Science and Technology (USTC)，Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT)，University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) and so on, with more than 40 invention patents.
Our team has been committing to research of OEMS and pattern recognition algorithms for long-distance biometrics, working in Professor Tan’s group. We have developed over 10 prototypes of biometrics imaging systems, accumulated valuable first-hand experience in FPGA, DAVINCI DSP, ARM, TK1, Z7000, IntelSOC and other embedded operating systems, mastered key intelligent image processing and AI techniques, including image ISP, object detection, face detection, keypoint localization, depth estimation, 3D reconstruction, iris recognition and liveness detection. Now we have successfully established product development process from optical sensing, mechanism, embedding platforms to algorithms and software, also with complete product supply chain.
